Brussels, 17/10/2005 (Agence Europe) - With 540 votes in favour (29 against and 36 abstentions), the European Parliament adopted the own-initiative report of Jean-Marie Beaupuy (ALDE, France) in Brussels on Thursday, on "The Urban Dimension in the Context of Enlargement". The EP is convinced that cities, and urban areas in general (including small and medium towns) have a central role to play in the achievement of the revised Lisbon and Gothenburg objectives.
