17/10/2005 (Agence Europe) - Enlargement Commissioner Olli Rehn urged Bulgaria on 14 October to step up its fight against corruption: 'we see an awful lot of corruption in Bulgaria'. In a speech in Sofia, Rehn said 'Bulgaria needs to combat corruption as a first priority because of its own national interest, the interests of its own citizens.' The next European Commission regular report on Bulgaria will be published on 25 October. Rehn said there would be a big chapter on corruption. The...
