EU welcomed smooth running of Liberian elections

Brussels, 17/10/2005 (Agence Europe) - A statement released on 14 October by the British Presidency: 'The European Union is pleased to note that the elections in Liberia on 11 October have been considered by international observers, in particular the European Union Election Observation Mission (EU EOM) in its preliminary assessment, to have so far been peaceful and generally well administered. The elections mark an important step forward in returning Liberia to a normally functioning state....
