EU deploys election observation mission for presidential and parliamentary elections in Liberia

Brussels, 19/09/2005 (Agence Europe) - At the request of the Liberian authorities, the European Commission has deployed an EU Election Observation Mission for the presidential and parliamentary elections in Liberia scheduled to take place on 11 October. Member of the European Parliament Max van den Berg (PES, Netherlands) has been selected to head the mission for supporting peace and democracy in this country.
