French insurance company AXA has become the third larges shareholder in the Spanish electricity company, ENDESA, by acquiring 5.35% of its capital. ENDESA, whose main shareholders are CAJA MADRID (9%) and CHASE NOMINEES (5.73%), is currently being targeted in a hostile takeover bid by GAS NATURAL.
