Brussels, 19/09/2005 (Agence Europe) - The European Consumers' Organisation (BEUC) and the European Public Health Alliance (EPHA) is organising a conference on mental health on 28 September on the premises of the European Parliament, in Strasbourg. One European out of four suffers or will suffer from at least one significant episode of mental illness during his/her lifetime, the two organisations recall. They suggest discussion on the proposal for a Green Paper to be published by the European Commission on this subject in October this year, with the participation of Spanish Christian Democrat Pilar Ayuso Gonzalez, Doctor Eva Jané Llopis of the WHO, and Jürgen Scheftlein on behalf of the DG SANCO at the Commission.
