ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) electronics

German group THYSSENKRUPP AG and the European EADS - EUROPEAN AERONAUTIC DEFENCE AND SPACE group have announced the setting up of a merger for buying out German naval defence specialist ATLAS ELEKTRONIK (turnover of EUR 292 million in 2004, with 1700 employees). THYSSENKRUPP will control 60% of the defence group and EADS the remaining 40%.
