Commission earmarks EUR 93 mil for Sweden and Baltic States following January 2005 storms

Brussels, 09/09/2005 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday, the European Commission adopted a draft plan to earmark EUR 92.9 million from the EU Solidarity Fund from the 2005 budget to help four Member States (Sweden, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania) after the violent storm damage of 8 January 2005. The Commission will present a Rectifying Budget proposal to include specific commitment credits for each country in question in the 2005 budget. The Commission estimates the damage in Sweden to be EUR 2.29...
