MEPs feel that EU should only legislate if compensation and delivery versus payment market fails

Strasbourg, 08/07/2005 (Agence Europe) - In Strasbourg on Thursday, the Parliament adopted the own-initiative report by Piia-Noora Kauppi (EPP-ED, Finland) on compensation and delivery versus payment in the European Union. This report does not take position clearly in favour or against a European legislative initiative in this field, but such an initiative should only come into play if the "failure of the market is a reasonable fear", the resolution reads.
