Commission slams Austria, France and Poland for hampering car imports

Brussels, 08/07/2005 (Agence Europe) - On 6 July, the Commission decided to take new measures against Austria, France and Poland that it accuses of hindering the free movement of goods by making car imports from other Member States more difficult by increasing red tape and additional costs. “These are obstacles in the way of consumers that cannot fully benefit from the Union's single market”, Industry Commissioner Günter Verheugen deplores in a press release.
