Mercosur-EU Business Forum calls for re-launch of EU-Mercosur negotiations

Brussels, 01/02/2005 (Agence Europe) - Participants at the Mercosur-EU Business Forum on Monday in Luxembourg called on European and South-American decision-makers to start up negotiations again for a free-trade agreement that has been pending since last October (EUROPE 22 October 2004). Commission Vice President Günter Verheugen said: “Creating the largest marketplace in the world would represent a huge opportunity for business in the EU and in the Mercosur countries”.
