In Geneva, Louis Michel confirms EU donation of 100 million EUR in emergency humanitarian aid, available within days

Brussels, 12/01/2005 (Agence Europe) - A hundred million euros is the official response to the appeal by the United Nations for emergency humanitarian aid for countries and populations hit by the tsunami in Southern Asia. José Manuel Barroso, President of the European Commission, has already announced that these funds will be made available rapidly from the billion and a half in aid promised by the EU at the extraordinary summit of Asian heads of State in Jakarta on 6 January, an initiative...
