29/11/2004 (Agence Europe) - The Consultative Committee for Industry of the OECD (Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development) held a round table in Paris on 29 November, together with the French employers' association MEDEF, on "Reliable energy provision for economic growth: new challenges for the security of energy and investment", to be attended by, amongst others, the former French Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hubert Védrine, MEDEF President Ernest-Antoine Seillière and representatives of the energy industry of the Member States. In a press release, the President of the OECD Committee, Roy Ryu, who chairs the Poongsan company in Korea, speaks of the sector's concerns at fluctuations on the energy market. The press release notes that demand for energy is set to increase by around 60% over the next 25 years, due to increased demand in emerging economies such as China and India, amongst other factors.
