GENERAL NEWS / (eu) cinema

- TIME WARNER has proposed between $4.5 and 4.6 billion cash (i.e. nearly $11 per share) for repurchase of the Hollywood studio, MGM - METRO GOLDWYN-MAYER. This is from 50 cents to 75 cents less per share than what SONY is proposing. The latter has made a $4.8 billion offer for MGM, which is more attractive but more difficult to achieve.
