Loyola de Palacio confirms there will be no air agreement signed during EU/US Summit on 26 June but hesitates to request formal denunciation of "Open Skies" agreements

Brussels, 23/06/2004 (Agence Europe) - Loyola de Palacio, Transport Commissioner, said on Wednesday that there will be no air agreement between the European Union and the United States between now and the EU/US Summit on 26 June in Dublin (for the agenda, see EUROPE of 22 June, p.11). The Commissioner confirmed what had been hinted by the Transport Council of 11 June, quite simply rejecting the latest US proposals in this connection (EUROPE of 12 June, p.8).
