Brussels, 25/05/2004 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission is as yet uncertain as to whether the offer made last week by Mercosur is really on a par with that made by the European Union, and feels that it is therefore too soon to plan the finalisation of negotiations on the creation of a free-trade zone at this week's EU/Latin America Summit in Guadalajara, said the Commissioner for Trade, Pascal Lamy (yesterday's EUROPE, pages 9-11).
