25/05/2004 (Agence Europe) - No formal meeting is planned with the European Union for the moment at the NATO summit on 28-29 June in Istanbul. Javier Solana European Union High Representative for CFSP said at the end of a meeting with the NATO Council (NAC) and the NATO Political and Security Committee (COPS) on Monday that they should not dramatise things and the level of cooperation should not be measures by the number of meetings. NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer said that if there was no meeting neither he nor Javier Solana would "go weeping". NATO indicated that no meeting had been scheduled on that day because there was not enough content to merit a specif session.
