Commission will not support Franco-German initiative to harmonise corporation tax

Brussels, 13/05/2004 (Agence Europe) - Jonathan Todd, the spokesperson for Commissioner Frits Bolkestein announced on Thursday that "the European Commission had absolutely no intention of producing proposals on levels of corporation tax". He described the Franco-German initiative to harmonise corporation taw in the EU, expected at the third Council of Franco-German ministers on Thursday in Paris (see above) as an announcement lacking in substance.
