Mr Patten says world more dangerous place than in 1999 - Plea by Geneva Initiative proponents

Strasbourg, 21/04/2004 (Agence Europe) - During a short debate on Wednesday morning, MEPs, Commissioner Patten and the Irish Presidency reaffirmed the importance of the roadmap for peace in the Middle East (see also p.8). Dick Roche said that "the roadmap is the only viable way out of the deadlock", and we must hope that the meeting of the Quartet, in New York on 4 May, will help to reaffirm the commitment of its members to apply it.
