Brussels, 17/03/2004 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission decided on Tuesday to open a formal inquiry to verify the legality of Luxembourg's national measures to fight animal disease. It has also criticised the Member State for failing to state whether it intends to respect the EU guidelines (dating from 27 November 2002) on State aid related to TSE (transmissible spongiform encephalopathy), fallen stock and slaughterhouse waste.
