17/03/2004 (Agence Europe) - On the occasion of Saint Patrick's Day, on 17 March, the President of the European Council, Bertie Ahern, was in Washington where he took part in the traditional Shamrock Ceremony with President Bush. The Irish Prime Minister and US President discussed EU-US relations and especially the fight against terrorism after the 11 March attack in Madrid, as well as the Middle East peace process and developments in Iraq.
