Brussels, 17/03/2004 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday, President Prodi and the ten newly-appointed Commissioners launched the publication of information in the nine new languages of the EU, on the Internet site EUROPA. The citizens of the acceding countries can access basic information on the Union's objectives, its history, its activities and its institutions in each of the nine new official languages. They can also find information on the decision-making process in the EU, and on how to access official documents. Community legislation, which is already available on the EUROPA site in the eleven current official languages, is being translated into the new languages at the moment. Other pages of general information in the new languages will be made available in May and June (http://www.europa.eu.int ).
