ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) steel

ARCELOR, the largest steel producer worldwide, is to sell most of the assets of its American subsidiary currently in difficulty, J&L SPECIALTY STEEL (turnover around $428 million in 2003 with a production of 250,000 tonnes of stainless steel bobbins of flat stainless steel), to the American company ALLEGHENY TECHNOLOGIES. The amount of the operation was not disclosed.
