Parliament strengthens proposal of regulation on persistent organic pollutants at first reading - priority objectives are public health and environment

Brussels, 27/02/2004 (Agence Europe) - Following its rapporteur, Pernille Frahm (GUE/NGL, Denmark), the European Parliament took a stance at first reading on Thursday in favour of rules that are more stringent than those proposed by the Commission as a framework within the EU for the production and use of persistent organic pollutants (POPs).
