30/10/2003 (Agence Europe) - The MEP Enrico Ferri (Forza Italia), welcomes in a press release the Commission's intention to investigate the use of a 'Made in Europe' label to promote European textile products (see EUROPE of 29 October, p. 5 concerning the press conference by European Commissioners Pascal Lamy and Erkki Liikanen). The European Commission's ideas, said the MEP, open a new path for relations with China, India and Brazil. The EU is prepared to launch the fight against counterfeiting, which hurts the textile sector and relegates the quality of products to a second place.
