TIMETABLE / (eu) banking

US groups BANK OF AMERICA and FLEETBOSTON FINANCIAL are going to merge and subsequently create the largest national retail bank on the US market. The operation will be concluded with the purchase of FLEETBOSTON FINANCIAL by the BANK OF AMERICA for USD 47 bn in shares. The new group will have USD 933.5 bn in assets and will be at the head of a network of 1500 branches with a staff of 180,000.
