Loans for education, information technology and environment

Luxembourg, 21/10/2003 (Agence Europe) - The European Investment Bank (EIB) has just concluded new financing contracts totalling Eur 235 million for investments in the education and information technology (ICT) sector. These loans are granted under the Bank's present pre-accession mechanism. A loan of Eur 200 million will contribute towards the construction and modernisation of primary and secondary schools, as well as towards the creation of ICT materials in schools.
