Reasoned opinion against Sweden (alcohol), Austria (quality label) and Netherlands (wood-burning stoves)

Brussels, 21/10/2003 (Agence Europe) - The Commission has sent reasoned opinions to Sweden, Austria and the Netherlands for infringements linked to the free movement of goods:

Sweden/Alcoholic drinks: The Commission has called on Sweden to lift the ban preventing Swedes from importing alcoholic drinks via an independent intermediary. Invoking health protection, the Swedish authorities make it compulsory for consumers to go through the Systembolaget, the national alcohol retail monopoly....
