Budgets committee proposes EUR 500 million for Iraq but divergences could lead to insitutions agreeing with amount proposed by Commission

Brussels, 03/10/2003 (Agence Europe) - The European Parliament is divided about the amount of Community aid for Iraq, less than three weeks away from the first reading of the 2004 budget on 23 October in Strasbourg. A budgetary trialogue between Parliament, the Council and Commission is planned for next Tuesday for dealing with this sensitive issue.
