Mr Aznar defends Spain's strong transatlantic connection

Brussels, 17/09/2003 (Agence Europe) - "I do not believe in Europe's cultural exception", Spanish Prime Minister José Maria Aznar affirmed in an interview with The Wall Street Journal. With 350 million Spanish-speakers on the other side of the Atlantic, "Spain has very strong transatlantic links that it cannot deny. For us, this transatlantic connection is an opportunity and a necessity for Europe", he commented.
