Brussels, 10/09/2003 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has published a report on the "Social Situation in Europe 2003", which this year had as its special theme the health of Europe's citizens. One of the main findings is that life expectancy has sharply increased in recent decades with the average life expectancy in 2000 being 75 for men and 81 for women - on year more than in the US.
