Parliamentary Assembly calls on European countries to step up fight against sale of human organs

Strasbourg, 27/06/2003 (Agence Europe) - Adopting virtually unanimously (43 to 1 with 2 abstentions) the report by Swiss Socialist Ruth Vermot-Mangold on human organ trafficking in Europe, the Council of Europe's Parliamentary Assembly appealed to its 45 Member States to step up the fight against this crime committed at the expense of the poorest countries in Europe.
