Presidency to meet EP rapporteur on takeover bids on Tuesday - negotiations make no headway in Council

Brussels, 27/06/2003 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday in Strasbourg, Italian Minister for European Policy Rocco Buttiglione is to meet Klaus Heiner Lehne, the Parliament rapporteur on the subject of the public takeover bid directive, in order to define the possibilities of reaching a compromise between the Council and Parliament. The EU15 Permanent Representatives, however, are unable to reach an agreement among themselves. The Competitiveness Council of 22 and 23 September will have the dossier...
