ECAS calls for qualified majority vote for citizenship and fight against discrimination

Brussels, 27/06/2003 (Agence Europe) - In a press release, the European Citizen Action Service (ECAS) recognises the progress that has been made by the constitutional treaty with regards transparency, participatory democracy and citizen initiative, but asks the Convention to make more effort in order to: - introduce the obligation for institutions to inform citizens of their rights; - extend qualified majority vote for questions affecting citizenship and the fight against discrimination.
