Foreign Ministers envisage creation of "follow-up mechanism" for implementing roadmap for peace

Rhodes, 05/05/2003 (Agence Europe) - EU Foreign Ministers discussed the creation of a "monitoring mechanism" for implementation of the roadmap for the Middle East, during their informal meeting in Rhodes at the weekend. They welcomed the publication of this roadmap defined by the Quartet (EU/United States/Russia/UN) and the work accomplished over six years by European representative Miguel Angel Moratinos (see EUROPE of 3 May, p;8).
