Commission gives conditional go-ahead for three buildings projects in Natura 2000 sites - Thumbs down for new industrial zone in Germany

Brussels, 28/04/2003 (Agence Europe) - Consulted under the Habitats Directive (92/43/EEC), the European Commission has given favourable opinions for three development projects on Natura 2000 sites in Germany, the Netherlands and Sweden, namely a plan to extend the operational master plan of the prosper Haniel colliery near Bottrop in North-Rhine Westfalia, Germany; a plan to extend the port of Rotterdam in the Netherlands; and a plan to build a new railway line in Bothnia (Sweden).
