Brussels, 28/04/2003 (Agence Europe) - Following the discovery of several suspected cases of SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome) in Italy, Girolamo Sirchia, Italy's Minister for Health, warned China and wrote to Commissioner David Byrne to call for harmonised precautionary measures to be set in place in all Union airports. According to Reuters, the Italian minister also called for an urgent meeting of his European counterparts to be convened.
