Commission releases EUR 10 million for emergency medical aid - injured to be given priority treatment in Iraq and neighbouring countries

Brussels, 22/04/2003 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has decided the immediate granting of new humanitarian aid to Iraq for EUR 10 million that should cover emergency medical needs for the people, especially the children. These funds, allocated by Echo (European Community Humanitarian Aid) will finance the setting up of medical structures and medicines, as well as hygiene materials, emergency rehabilitation of damaged or looted medical infrastructures, medical care support for...
