Members of the Forum of Civil Society propose a schedule to extend the Convention, remove the IGC and provide for the coming into force of the Constitution in countries where there would be a majority of 'yes' votes if a European referendum were held

Brussels, 22/04/2003 (Agence Europe) - Members of the Permanent Forum of Civil Society have written an open letter to members of the European Convention in which they confirm that 'we citizens of the Union forward another schedule for the European Constitution', while stating that 'the European Council in Athens has just decided not to give Valéry Giscard d'Estaing more time' (see EUROPE of 17 April, page 16) and to 'ask the Intergovernmental Conference to finish the Convention's unfinished...
