22/04/2003 (Agence Europe) - The European elected candidate of the Democratici di sinistra Guido Sacconi wishes to question the European Commission during the meeting of the Parliamentary Commission for the Environment this Wednesday, on the Italian governments' intention to decriminalise by means of reforming of the penal code, a large number of infringements against the environment. M.Sacconi, who cites in particular infringements in connection with construction, protection of wild fauna, trade of protected animals, protection of the ozone layer and the sea, labelling of dangerous substances, is concerned about a similar risk of "infringement of community and international law", precisely during a marked on the one hand by ecological catastrophes and on the other by the efforts of the community institutions in order to codify the principal "pollutant remitter".
