Parliament calls on Egyptian government to respect human rights

Strasbourg, 11/04/2003 (Agence Europe) - After the topical debate in Strasbourg on Thursday, the European Parliament adopted a common resolution by five political groupings (EPP-ED, PES, ELDR, Greens/EFA and GUE/NGL) on human rights violations in Egypt, calling on the Egyptian authorities to end all legal proceedings against homosexuals and protect their individual freedoms. It calls on the Egyptian government to guarantee the collective right to freedom of speech for peace, to ensure peace...
