Two week extension of embargo on Dutch poultry because of chicken flu outbreak in Limburg

Brussels, 10/04/2003 (Agence Europe) - As reported on page 4 of yesterday's Europe, the Standing Committee on the Food Chain and Animal Health voted on Wednesday in favour of a European Commission proposal to extend until 25 April the restrictions put in place after outbreaks of avian influenza (chicken flu) in the Netherlands which have now spread to the province of Limburg, close to the borders with Belgium and Germany.
