Luxembourg, 08/04/2003 (Agence Europe) - Despite opposition from the European Commission, the Agriculture Council decided unanimously in Luxembourg on Tuesday to allow Italy to grant national aid of EUR 118.78 and regional aid of EUR 80.17 (for Sicily) to members of bankrupt farming cooperatives who pledged family and personal property as loan guarantees (see Europe of 5 March, p.13, for details).
