13/03/2003 (Agence Europe) - By adopting the report of Hubert Piker (ÖVP), the European Parliament just added three amendments to the draft regulation on drug precursors. At the end of the first reading in co-decision procedure, Parliament especially requested that the updating of the list of non-classified substances that are currently used in the illegal manufacture of stupifiants be updated on an annual basis (instead of "regularly" in the initial Commission text). The Commission is expected to assess the application of the regulation three years after its entry into force.
