Romano Prodi supports UN's final push for solution to be found before 28 February deadline - Meeting between Annan and Simitis

Brussels, 26/02/2003 (Agence Europe) - A few days ahead of the 28 February deadline for agreement on Kofi Annan's plan for finding a solution to the Cyprus question, the European Parliament President, Romano Prodi, has reiterated his full support for the UN's "final push", repeating his "strong preference for the accession of a united Cyprus to the EU". In a press release, Prodi said that if the 28 February deadline were respected, this "would allow sufficient time for the planned referendum...
