Commission pursues legal action against six Member States (emissions into air)

Brussels, 28/01/2003 (Agence Europe) - On Monday the European Commission decided to pursue infringement proceedings against Greece, Ireland, Austria, Belgium, Finland and Germany, which have not correctly implemented certain EU laws governing emissions to the air. Greece is to be referred to the European Court of Justice for failing to apply correctly an EU law on combating air pollution from industrial plants to a power station at Linoperamata in Crete.
