28/01/2003 (Agence Europe) - If the "yes vote" wins in the referendum on the euro scheduled for September, Sweden wants to join Economic and Monetary Union (EMU) on 1 January 2006 said Gunnar Lund on Tuesday on the radio station Ekot. Sweden's Deputy Finance Minister stipulated that 2006 was preferable to joining EMU in 2005 together with an introduction of coins and banknotes the following year.
