Parliament criticises lack of firmness on part of Council vis-à-vis United States

Strasbourg, 28/10/2002 (Agence Europe) - In a resolution adopted on Thursday, the European Parliament "deplores the fact that, against the explicit will of the European Parliament, the General Affairs Council did not adopt (on 30 September) a clear common position faced with the efforts of the American Administration to conclude bilateral agreements with certain Member states and, by doing so, undermines the universality of the International Criminal Court".
