Additional 29 million for Palestinians - Israeli authorities again urged to stop hindering assistance

Brussels, 28/10/2002 (Agence Europe) - At the joint initiative of Commissioners Chris Patten (external relations) and Poul Nielson (humanitarian aid), the European Commission has decided to grant an additional aid package of EUR 29 million in favour of the Palestinians, for encouraging the Palestinian Authority's effort for reform or rescuing the population whose humanitarian situation is deteriorating.

Out of this total amount, 7 million are earmarked for humanitarian aid (food aid, school...
