26/09/2002 (Agence Europe) - In Strasbourg, with 433 votes for, 54 against and 20 abstentions, the Parliament adopted the report by Belgian Christian Democrat, Miet Smet, on the "Representation of women in EU social partner organisations". This effectively means that the EP intends to now implement strategies for strengthening the presence of women (see EUROPE 13 September p 16).
